when you wring me out
you wrap your hands around my ends
as strongly as you can,.........putting pressure throughout
you pull and....squeezeeee
........to let water escape
you push

.............and I freeze

...............................................I’ve frozen in shape

I can twist no further
...the water stops it’s track

you look at the last water drops,........ dripping away

then you put me on the drying rack
and say:
......................................I feel the absence, it lingers
..................................................................like a lost ring
................................................................................I can still feel you around my fingers
